Adopt new safety standards for headphones sold in the UK

What the petition asks
The Government should adopt new rules for headphones sold in the UK to help reduce the incidence of avoidable hearing loss and the problems it causes to both the individual and the NHS.
Rules and regulations relating to the sale of headphones should meet the International Telecommunications Union/World Health Organisation H.870 v2 safety standards which require them to provide users with sound exposure information so they can safeguard their own hearing and that of their children.
Unmanaged headphone use is a big risk to hearing, so providing users with information will enable them to manage their sound exposure to avoid hearing loss and related conditions such as cognitive decline.
