Halt Breed-Specific Legislation, Focus on Responsible Ownership Instead
Rejected
11 signatures
What the petition asks
Rather than banning specific breeds, we should focus our efforts on educating potential dog owners about responsible pet ownership and enforcing stricter penalties for those who neglect or mistreat their pets.
I urge lawmakers to reconsider breed-specific bans and instead implement policies that hold all dog owners accountable for their pets' behavior. Let's stop punishing innocent animals for human failings, animals are being neglected and we’re blaming the breed? Breed-specific legislation is not only unjust but also ineffective. Controlled studies have not identified this legislation as being particularly effective at reducing dog bite incidents.
