Ask the Lands End Local authority to preserve the famous signpost at Lands End.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

The local authority in Lands End plan to remove the famous Lands End to John O'Groats signpost in January 2024. They do not intend to renew the contract with the company who has maintained it for years.
The signpost in Lands End has been a much loved national and cultural landmark for many years. It should therefore be preserved. Not everything should be governed by money. Some things are worth preserving.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about local signage are a matter for the relevant local authority, not the UK Government or Parliament.

You could raise your issue with a local councillor who represents you. You can find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them, by entering your post code here: https://www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors
