Introduce a right to pet care and bereavement leave

What the petition asks
Introduce a statutory right for pet owners in the workplace for time off for vet appointments and emergency surgeries and compassionate leave in the event of the death of a pet.
We believe there is a need for a statutory right within the workplace to address the challenges faced by pet owners who are struggling to balance their work responsibilities with the needs of their pets. There is a lack of legal provisions for time off. Currently, it's the discretion of the employer whether granted time off.
Millions of households are pet owners, the well-being of the animals and need for leave rights for pet owners needs to be addressed.
