Reform the Help to Buy ISA scheme

What the petition asks
Allow individuals with a Help to Buy ISA to transfer their account to a Lifetime ISA or increase the maximum house purchase prices to the current UK Average House Price, which in November 2023 was £284,950.
Currently, the scheme is capped at £250,000 (or £450,000 in London).
The current maximum house purchase price under the Help to Buy ISA scheme restricts access for many aspiring homeowners, particularly in regions where property prices exceed the current limit. Raising the maximum limit to the UK Average House Price would help ensure that this Government initiative more effectively addresses the affordability challenges faced by citizens across diverse geographical and economic backgrounds.
