Ban Greyhound Racing within 5 years

What the petition asks
We want the Government to phase out greyhound racing within five years, because we believe the industry is not doing enough to protect the welfare of the dogs.
Data released by the Greyhound Board of Great Britain confirms that 99 greyhounds died in 362,427 races in 2022. The number of deaths in 2022 rises to a staggering total of 306, including dogs that were put to sleep due to “treatment costs” or “designated unsuitable for homing”.
Aside from the unnecessary and preventable deaths, there is a lack of funding for rehoming centres, dogs are being sent to China to race, and we believe there is mass overbreeding and a lack of fair punishments for abusive owners.
