What the petition asks
Fine car manufactures that don't do this. Force them to update the cars software or fit security devices at no cost to the current owner.
Car insurance has gone through the roof and some insurance companies are refusing to insurance certain cars due the amount of them that are being stolen.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about vehicle theft, but we're not sure exactly what new security measures you want car manufacturers to be required to install.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
