Require full coverage of the FA cup be offered to free-to-air broadcasters

What the petition asks
We want the Government to add the full FA Cup tournament to the list of Group A protected “Crown Jewel” sporting events that means full live coverage must be offered to the main free-to-air terrestrial broadcasters on “fair and reasonable terms”.
The FA Cup is one of the most popular television broadcasts in the country. It’s been confirmed that the future rights to broadcast this have been sold to a subscription-based programme.
As financial hardship continues for millions of UK citizens, when for many people watching sport is one of the only releases and entertainments they can enjoy, more and more of it is being kept behind a paywall.
