Stop the renaming of the London Overground
Rejected

What the petition asks
We would like to stop the London Overground from being renamed to the six different names: Lioness, Mildmay, Windrush, Weaver, Suffragette and Liberty.
The money being spent for this could be much better used to tackle knife crime, set up a fund for struggling families with their energy bills or many other uses that would be of a direct benefit to Londoners.
The TFL website states that “some” people found the network confusing. This is not a compelling enough argument to use public funds in this way.

Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about the names of London Overground lines are a matter for Transport for London, not the UK Government or Parliament.
The London Assembly has its own petitions process. You can find out more about how to petition the London Assembly here: https://www.london.gov.uk/about-us/london-assembly/petitions
