Do not make rules on owning a crossbow tougher

What the petition asks
The Government are considering toughening rules around crossbow ownership. I think people should be at liberty to own a crossbow and that further regulation shouldn't be imposed. Archery can be a cheaper alternative to clay pigeon shooting. Archery is part of our heritage.
I think current laws are adequate for the control of crossbows, there were fewer than 10 homicides by crossbow between 2011 and 2021. I think proposed laws are draconian and unjust. There are people in control of firearms, which can be more dangerous. Handguns were banned in the 1997, yet still gun crime still continues. We believe more clubs and education is the key, not tougher rules on owning a crossbow.
