change the price of lactose free produce

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

Make lactose free produce the same price as other produce which contains lactose. As a lactose intolerant person it is unreasonably expensive to buy alternative products to prevent us from getting ill.
It is not someone choice to be lactose intolerant, therefore why lactose free produce needs to be vastly more expensive is odd. For those who struggle to work having to pay extra for necessary items to prevent getting ill can cause lots of unnecessary stress.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for. Decisions about the price of lactose free products are a matter for manufacturers and retailers, not the UK Government or Parliament.

We could accept a petition calling on the Government to provide financial support to people with special dietary needs, to help them with the cost of meeting their dietary needs.
