Extend home fee status British citizens if parents who have paid NI for 5 years+

What the petition asks
Currently British citizens can be charged international fees if they are not resident of UK for 3 years before start of university education. Please extend home fee status to UK citizens where their parents have paid National Insurance contributions for at least 5 years.
Many countries take into account citizenship when deciding fee structure for university students. We believe that the UK Government also should consider citizenship and previous National Insurance contributions when deciding on fees. Today’s world is a global work place and the current fee structure penalises children whose parents have to work out of UK.
