What the petition asks
I want the Government to conduct a comprehensive review of the removal of children from Roma, Romani and Traveller children from their communities. I believe children are being stripped of their beliefs, identities and traditions they’re born into once they go into the care system.
We are demanding a review of the removal of Roma, Romani and Traveller children from their communities. We want this to look at:
How to ensure Roma, Romani and Traveller children who are taken into care are placed with suitable family members or friends closely connected to the family regardless if they live in Brick and Mortar or Caravans.
The understanding of social workers in England on Roma, Romani and Traveller, and training needs.
Support during legal proceedings for any families with low literacy, to ensure legal documents are understood.
