Change the law so that only vets can own vet practices

What the petition asks
I want the Government/Parliament to reverse the change in law that allowed people who are not vets to legally own veterinary practices. I believe we should return to when only qualified veterinarians could legally own veterinary practices.
I believe that since the law changed, big corporations have been buying up our vet practices & making huge profits from our pets. This has made owning a pet/looking after a sick pet unaffordable to many people. I think that it has also resulted in a reduced standard of care.
I want to remove the big corporations from our vets so that everyone can afford to look after their pets. I also want to ensure that improved standards of care are prioritised over targets for shareholder dividends.
