Pay phlebotomists in NHS trusts across the UK, band 4 Agenda for change (AFC)

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Involve the Department of Health and social care, to implement a fixed pay banding (Band 4) for all phlebotomists who work within NHS trusts in the UK.
Currently phlebotomists are being paid band 2 agenda for change. Due to rise in cost of living, and the increase in minimum wage, the current banding does not reflect the skills, knowledge, experience, or risks taken by phlebotomist when they perform their roles. A band 4 pay will boost morale, and improve working lives for phlebotomists across the nation. Otherwise, trusts will lose experienced phlebotomist who would otherwise work elsewhere for the same pay (less risk) if not more pay.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about what pay band NHS staff are in is an operational matter for the NHS, not the UK Government or Parliament.
