What the petition asks
In accordance with the Environment Act 2021 we have a duty to ensure that we are doing something about the unprecedented climate crisis.
We believe that there should be a legal requirement for new housing association properties to have solar panels.
Ofgem estimates that the typical British household of 2.4 people uses 2,700 kWh of electricity and 11,500 kWh of gas in a year.
A 1 kW system of 3-4 solar panels can generate around 850 kWh of electricity each year.
