The prices of holidays during school holidays to be reduced, made affordable

What the petition asks
I want the prices of holidays to be looked at during school holidays. It is not affordable for most and it’s very unfair that fines are being introduced when it is actually the travel companies that should be held responsible. Why do prices increase so much within a short space of time?
Travel companies should be held responsible. It is not fair that parents are getting fined. I fully appreciate school attendance is important but so is children’s happiness, quality of life, time with loved ones, life experiences, less stress and debt on parents because they want to provide for their children. The cost of living is extremely high, so why not make a change where it hits us the most.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about prices for holidays are a matter for travel agents and airlines, not the UK Government or Parliament.
