What the petition asks
I think that MPs should be required to substantiate claims/statements made in Parliament. This could help ensure that MPs prioritise evidence based decisions, ensuring integrity and credibility by requiring independent, unbiased, peer-reviewed scientific evidence for all parliamentary contributions.
All Members of Parliament to be mandated to substantiate all claims, speeches, statements, and actions with independent, unbiased, and peer-reviewed evidence from reputable academic sources prior to their contributions. Citing sources for every statement, speech, and action to be mandatory. Penalties for non-compliance: 1st breach - 3 months of suspension from Parliamentary activities, 2nd breach - 6-month suspension, 3rd breach - 1-year suspension.
