Require all public car parks to have cash and/or card payment options

Closed 49 signatures

What the petition asks

To make it law that car parks used by the public must make provision for cash and/or bank card payments, if they are not free.
Not all car users have a working smart phone equipped with the required car parking apps. We believe requiring payment in specific ways discriminates against some users.

In addition, phone battery and signal problems make phone payment unreliable.

Cash is preferred by many but if this is not possible then provision of bank card payment should be mandatory.

In situations where payment by cash and card is inoperable for any reason then charges for car parking should not be allowed.

Phone payment should only be an option for those who prefer it, not the only option available.
