What the petition asks
Abolish IHT on Family Farms.
In a world with increasing tensions; both domestically between factions of the United Kingdom and international geopolitically, relying on imported goods and services to sustain wants and needs is shortsighted. This could not be more true when it comes to food production. £1M threshold is comically low when considering the valuations for the majority of small, family farms. Given the UKs overreliance on imported food already; decreasing economies of scale via break-ups is counter intuitive.
