Petition
compulsory politics education in high schools

What the petition asks
we'd like the government to introduce some form of compulsory politics education into high schools.
Too often today, we see young people who are not only not politically active but also not politically aware. I believe that it is vital to have young and informed citizens, this education shall not only update young people but also hopefully motivate them to vote when they turn 18, which should increase voter turnout. I find it appalling that students don't know about current political affairs, this needs to change and this is the way!
Why it was rejected
The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.
The key stage 3 and 4 curriculums for Citizenship already include teaching about democracy, government and how laws are made and upheld.
If you would like Politics to be a compulsory subject in its own right, you could start a petition about that.
