What the petition asks
Make it the new national anthem because it is much more positive and the current one has aged and we need something to cheer people up.
Improve mental health across the country
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The use of the present National Anthem is a matter of tradition rather than having any legal status.
