What the petition asks

We call for the Government to create the offence of Possession of a Catapult or Slingshot in a Public Place without Reasonable Excuse; and introduce it as either separate legislation or include it in any future Bill on the further banning of weapons.

There has been an increase of individuals openly carrying catapults and slingshots and using them to shoot at windows, cars and wildlife. In public parks many ducks, swans and geese and other wildlife have been severely injured or killed.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

You may wish to sign this petition which calls for the same action: Make the sale of catapults/ammunition and carrying catapults in public illegal.
