Petition

Make the two State Pensions the same amount based upon contributory years .

Rejected 9 signatures

What the petition asks

Equalise the two State Pensions into the same amount based upon contribution years. Review of entitlements to pensioner benefits may be needed if this is done.
To address the inequality of two different amounts of State Pension where the gap in payment amounts appears discriminatory based on an arbitrary changeover date and those on the old State pension may have contributed more years in National Insurance than those on the new State pension. This may also have resulted in additional costs & payments for government by having to process additional pensioner benefit claims .

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

You may wish to sign this petition which calls for the same action: Abolish the basic State Pension, increase the new State Pension and pay to all.
