Petition

Allow children two weeks term time holiday per year WITHOUT parental fines.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

We need a review on the 2024 laws to allow families to take two weeks holiday out of the allocated half term. On the basis that their child has good attendance for the rest of the year to enable families to make irreplaceable memories. Our children have just ONE childhood.
Under current laws, it is an offence to take your child on holiday during term time and you can be prosecuted. However travel companies hoick the prices by thousands during half term.

So much education can and is incorporated into travel. Language, culture, history.

For many families, the increase in pricing during half term is simply unaffordable and this law means they will not go on holiday at all.

It should be our right to give OUR children these experiences.

Let’s fight for this!
