Petition
Renationalise the Post Office
Rejected

What the petition asks
Compulsary purchase of the Post Office and bring it back into public ownership
Privatisation of the Post Office has failed. 500 years of a service has been all but destroyed in 20 years and led to scandals, false imprisonment, injustice, money grabs and foreign ownership. It is a service not a business and should never have been treated as such. It is a lifeline to thousands of communities and the recent announcement of closures in order for shareholders profit to be maximised highlights again why the private sector cannot be trusted with this service.
Why it was rejected
The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.
You may wish to submit a petition asking for the nationalisation of Royal Mail, as the Post Office is already publicly owned.
