What the petition asks
The government should move the voting age from 18 to 16 in all elections.
16 year old have to pay National Insurance and Income Tax once they reach an income threshold, it only makes sense that the responsibility of paying taxes should come with the right to vote and decide where those taxes go.
Young people need the right to decide their own future, and it's clear that the future that is currently being created isn't the one young people deserve.
When people turn 16, they gain so many rights and responsibilities. Why is the right to vote not a part of that?
