What the petition asks
All pensioners need paid the minimum wage to prevent early death, afford a healthy diet, to prevent energy and fuel poverty, to allow them financial security in their final years and let them live with dignity.
All pensioners deserve respect and a happy retirement not misery and financial worries.
A fair payment would be £25,000 per year with no tax. No one should pay tax on the first £25,000 of their salary/wages.
Paying a decent pension means that local businesses benefit from the “grey” pound which promotes new jobs for local people.
These new employees in turn spend their new wages in their community to enhance businesses and create more new jobs.
A win, win for all including the treasury that increases its VAT receipts, fuel duty and alcohol duty.
