Petition
Protection for Leaseholders from rising costs of service charge

What the petition asks
Currently, there are no laws to protect the leaseholders from the unreasonable increase in service charges. Estate management companies are scamming residents in the name of inflation and redevelopment. These companies are using their subsidiary to get quotes for service charge-related works.
Unreasonable costs such as 8000£ for a telephone bill for a concierge or 20000£ electricity bill for the same where the concierge room is smaller than 1 bed flat.
I would like the Government to put in place a maximum cap system where the service charge is protected by the law for example Considering inflation the service charge shouldn't increase more than CPI rate and if still the increase is required, it should be approved by the Resident's Home Association for that estate
