Review children’s services processes for removing children from their parents

What the petition asks
We would like there to be a review of how children’s services remove children from their parents, which looks at how evidence-based assessments, independent oversight, family support, and legal safeguards are incorporated into the process.
The review should also consider the application of the Children Act for fairness, transparency, and focus on family preservation.
The review should also consider interim care orders and adoption plans as a last resort, options for funding kinship care, and access to legal aid. It should also consider how family support services could be best supported to address issues without removing children unnecessarily.
