Remove VAT from pet veterinarian bills

What the petition asks
Many pets and pet owners suffer from not being able to afford simple medical care. In a nation that has a state-funded, free to use, national health service, I think it is immoral to tax medical treatment for animals. Please remove VAT from vets bills.
Taking in strays over the years has cost my family an absolute fortune when it turns out many are abandoned due to underlying health conditions. Paying thousands of pounds over the years for these poor animals to die anyway is hard to deal with. 20% added to these costs adds a fortune. We feel we should not be punished for being a nation of animal lovers who wish a healthy life for them. We think this tax goes against the famed British value of being animal lovers.
