Require there to be general election to replace a Prime Minister

What the petition asks
We call upon the UK Government to introduce and pass legislation that makes it illegal for any political party to remove or replace an elected Prime Minister without a General Election.
We believe that re-electing a Prime Minister without the consent of the people undermines the very principle of democracy, and we believe this can create a situation where political elites, rather than the public, decide who leads the country.
We think this creates a precedent for ignoring the public's wishes and could diminish the legitimacy of political decisions and government actions.
