Petition
Ban MPs claiming taxpayers money to heat their second homes
Rejected
15 signatures
What the petition asks
MPs have removed the £300 winter fuel payment for pensioners, most of them claim this a month to heat their second homes. Why are we paying for this as taxpayers?
I would like to see this taxpayer expense removed for MPs. If it’s good enough for pensioners it should be good enough for them or are we not all in it together?
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
