Consider measures to limit the size of automobiles - particularly width.

What the petition asks
Have a debate in the Commons about what measures could be enacted to reduce car sizes - whether that be to mandate a reasonable width or to disincentivise larger vehicles through the VED. Many urban roads are not able to cope with the increasing size of our vehicles.
The growth in car width is leading to greater congestion and having a detrimental effect on the urban fabric and active travel. As both a cyclist and a driver the impact on the ability to move around urban areas is being increasingly compromised by the growth in vehicle size. Moreover, the risk for vulnerable users has also increased as it is more difficult to see pedestrians and wheelers (particularly young children).
Why it was rejected
The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.
There are already measures in place which set a maximum width for new vehicles. You could start a petition which calls for a change in this width.
