Require online account deletion to be simple and clear

What the petition asks
Creating online accounts is simple, but deleting them can be difficult. We would like the government to introduce a law requiring a clear, one-step “Delete Account” button, banning barriers, and ensuring users control their data.
We believe that some companies deliberately make it difficult to delete accounts by hiding the option in obscure menus or requiring unnecessary steps like contacting support or multiple email verifications.
We call for a law that mandates:
1. Easy navigation to account settings.
2. A clear, one-step “Delete Account” button.
3. A ban on unnecessary hurdles, ensuring user autonomy and data control.
We would like simpler, transparent account deletion for all.
