What the petition asks
Funding for the Royal Family could be redirected to finance public institutions - such as affordable homes, schools, hospitals, libraries and parks - benefitting the population as a whole.
The Royal Family has accumulated a huge amount of wealth, including from successive government grants over the years, as well as by charging various government departments and bodies to use their land for things like parking ambulances, conducting military training and maintaining prisons.
