What the petition asks
It has been proposed that some local elections scheduled for May 2025 are to be postponed due to local authority reorganisation. As a cornerstone of democracy, the ballot box serves as a peaceful opportunity for voters to voice their opinions. Postponement of this opportunity is bad for democracy.
The postponement, delaying and/or cancelling of any election, be it local, regional or national only sows the seeds of a loss of faith in our democracy.
