Petition

Care homes - Limit profit margins, as well as building more affordable ones

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

All care home profit margins need to be limited and standards improved through regulation and tax incentives. The availability of affordable decent care homes needs to be increased through tax incentives.
According to the Caring Times website, the average profit margins for care homes are around 30%, unyet the average profit for service firms is around 15%. The average cost of a care home in the UK is more than £41,600 per year. If you do a web search for "affordable care homes" you get nothing. The majority of people in this country could not afford even the cheapest private care home in their area.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
