Petition
Do not cancel local elections

What the petition asks
The Labour government must not cancel any council elections in 2025 or in the future as it is a threat to local democracy.
The new Labour government are currently considering cancelling specific council elections in 2025 because they expect that they will preform very badly and are worried about the right wing getting a foothold in british politics. Politics should be open and transparent and denying people the right to vote would be a very backward step in British history.
