Reopen the British embassy in Syria.

What the petition asks
After closing the embassy in 2012 due to the conflict, we think the British Government should now reopen its embassy in Damascus. We think reopening the embassy and restoring diplomatic ties is crucial for fostering cooperation, ensuring British contribution to Syria’s reconstruction.
We think a British diplomatic presence would enable effective support for humanitarian efforts, promote stability, and strengthen the UK’s role in Middle East peacebuilding.
For Syrians, we think the reopening of the embassy would signal international recognition and support for rebuilding the country, creating opportunities for economic and educational exchanges, and facilitating visa processes for those seeking to travel or study in the UK.
