What the petition asks

Ask the government to renew the holiday activity fund to support children during school holidays and ensure they have safe childcare and a hot meal each day.

The government has not announced what it is doing with the HAF, and with the fund due to end in January 2025, children are in danger of not being able to access childcare and a hot meal during the school holiday from Easter 2025. Providers and parents need time to plan and ensure this is delivered.

Why it was rejected

The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.

Earlier this month, the Government announced that funding for this programme will continue for 2025-26.
