What the petition asks
Ban donations to members of parliament councillors etc above a certain amount, publicly fund elections, with a certain amount of money spent per constituency and spread out between candidates, and have stricter reporting requirements for lobbying from think tanks etc.
The United kingdom has long been a bastion of democracy in the world, and with influence from Russia, china, and the US, we must be sure that our system is robust and democratic enough to withstand them.
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
You may wish to sign a petition which calls for a similar action: Reform the funding of political parties in the UK, with a limit on donations.
