What the petition asks
Please ban these addressed forms of junk mail now, i.e. mail addressed to generic addressees (e.g. The Occupier) where no commercial relationship is already in place.
Unsubscribing (Royal Mail Door to Door opt out, MPS (Mail Preference Service), and DMA's "Your Choice" scheme) do nothing, because these mailings have an "addressee" on them.
We think these unwanted mailings are a complete waste of paper and irritating to many people. Many people didn't ask for them, but have to deal with them. We think producing them may also add extra cost to the products and services we buy, because companies may include the cost of producing junk mail into the prices we pay.
