Provide funding for all pregnant women to have an ultrasound for CHD
Closed
803 signatures
What the petition asks
Fund congenital heart disease (CHD) screening during pregnancy to ensure early detection of life-threatening conditions. Identifying CHD via ultrasound enables timely interventions, better delivery planning, access to specialized care, improving survival and quality of life for affected babies.
1 in 100 babies are born with CHD and only 50% of those are detected during pregnancy. Identifying CHD can ensure babies receive the correct treatment straight after birth or life saving surgery and without this some wouldn't be here today.
