Petition

Do not scrap the Blackburn Burnley and Pendle hospital shuttle bus

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Stop the termination of the shuttle bus from Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital Burnley General Teaching Hospital (BGTH) and Pendle Community Hospital the bus was set up as a condition of the closure of BGTH A&E to allow patients visitors and staff to attend appointments, work and visit patients.
There has been no alternatives to the termination proposed and many feel implementing a small charge will reduce the cost to the trust and allow people to continue their journeys. There are no other direct public transport routes from towns in the A&E catchment area such as Colne and taxi would be in the region of £50-60 return trip all playing an impact. The hospital also relies on bank nursing staff who use this service so also affects staffing levels and patient care within the hospital.
