Introduce measures to hold social media platforms to account for tackling scams

What the petition asks
I would like the UK government to hold social media platforms accountable for tackling scams on their platforms by requiring them to adopt specific measures.
This includes:
- require & enforce ID checks for users
- require reporting & audits
- create an anti-scam taskforce
- raise public awareness
- fund victim compensation
Many people lose money and trust due to social media scams. I think platforms are failing to act - with scammers operating freely - so we need stronger regulation to hold them accountable, enforce security and protect users. I think it will help prevent financial harm, restore trust and show online safety is a national priority.
