What the petition asks
St George's Day is celebrated annually on 23 April, recognised as England's national day to mark the death of the Patron Saint of England, who is thought to have died around AD 303 when he was tortured and executed in Palestine, becoming an early Christian martyr
It long overdue that England has a official National day and not be ashamed to celebrate our culture, history and commemorate why we are called Great Britain !. Our country was the founding nation of the modern industrial Era and owes its success to the great minds and entrepreneurs of this age. We all owe a significant debt to these pioneers of the early industrial revolutionary era without this we would not have been the most powerful successful nation that we were and hopefully still are
