What the petition asks
Some people with disabilities are waiting over 6-months for Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) to contact them to discuss the support they need to obtain or stay in paid work or set-up their own businesses.
We believe that prior to the pandemic, delays of this size did not exist.
We want the Government to treat this issue as seriously as NHS waiting lists.
We want the DWP to allocate the necessary additional resources to cope this increase in workload as they did with the massive increase in claims for Universal Credit at the start of the Pandemic in March 2020.
We also want DWP case managers to be able to accept workplace assessments from other sources to speed up the processing of caseloads.
