Petition
Keep small local shops in villages as shops
Rejected

What the petition asks
Ensure fair and equitable treatment of shopkeepers from landlords. To stop landlords from turning village shops into flats.
Currently in the local area we have seen landlords force out shopkeepers of their rental properties by unlawful practices. With the goal of turning the shops into residential properties.
Landlords and managing agents know they can make more money from residential properties and they are driving out the much needed local shops.

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand you are concerned about local shops, but we're not sure exactly what action you'd like the Government or Parliament to take.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
