Petition

Full Democratic Control Over Our Laws, by extension our lives.

Rejected 15 signatures

What the petition asks

Any new law passed MUST have a period of 6 months, were the public can vote to remove it via a majority petition. Any existing laws the public should be given the option to overturn. The government MUST make available a petition for ALL laws, with the option to call for a referendum, at anytime.
This is our constitutional right and should be protected, in a truly democratic state. All existing laws that the public do NOT want we should be able to scrap and the government MUST make available a petition to call on a referendum on any current law, if it gains a majority it goes to an enforceable referendum which MUST be enacted upon. Any new laws MUST have a minimum of 6 months period were it can be overturned by a petition without a referendum. Majority vote wins, without exception.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, would you like this process to use the existing e-petition system or create something new? How would this relate to a referendum?
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
